Samantha and director BV Nandini Reddy teamed up for the third time for the new film Maa Inti Bangaaram. Samantha and her husband, Raj, are also a part of the film’s production. There are quite a few expectations on this film, and check out the film’s review here.
Story:
Swapna (Samantha) enters a traditional village family after a love marriage. As a new daughter-in-law, she finds it difficult to meet the expectations of such a large family. She tries hard to win everyone’s love and acceptance. As the story progresses, dramatic events unfold, and people from Swapna’s past return, completely changing her life. A dangerous man named Karuna (Gulshan Devaiah) begins to trouble her. How does her husband and family react after learning about her past? How does Swapna fight back against Karuna? The rest of the film revolves around these questions.
Performances:
Samantha is the film’s greatest strength and carries it almost entirely on her shoulders. She performs very well in two different looks and impresses with her body language, dialogue delivery, emotional scenes, action sequences, and flashback episodes. Her screen presence and appearance are also major highlights. Gulshan Devaiah is excellent as the villain and delivers a realistic performance. Sreemukhi, Gautami, Lakshmi, Manjusha, Sri Lakshmi Anand, and the rest of the cast perform well in their respective roles.
Technical Aspects:
The technical quality of the film is good. Santhosh Narayanan’s music adds value, especially the background score during the emotional climax scenes. The cinematography is one of the film’s highlights. Director B. V. Nandini Reddy handles the film well, and the production values are impressive throughout. The dialogue is impressive, and the action sequences are well crafted.
Review:
The basic story idea is interesting. Some action scenes are well executed. The flashback portions and scenes shown from the heroine’s perspective in the second half work effectively. The emotional ending is also satisfying. Although the director designed Swapna’s character and backstory well, the overall treatment could have been stronger. While much of the film is engaging with emotional and action elements, a few scenes feel slow and boring. It also seems unrealistic that such major events occur around the new daughter-in-law without the rest of the family noticing. Maa Inti Bangaram is an emotional family action drama that is mainly driven by Samantha’s strong performance. The film keeps the audience engaged with emotional moments and an interesting narrative. Though some routine and slow scenes affect the overall experience, the performances, filmmaking, and family emotions make it worth watching.
Plus Points:
Samantha’s performance
Comedy
Family Moments
Minus Points:
Few boring scenes
Final Verdict: Decent, Entertaining Film From Samantha
