Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that Rahul was sporting an expensive T-shirt worth over Rs 41,000.
Rahul Gandhi who is on a ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to revive the party, is facing this controversy from BJP leaders.
BJP is also pointing out that the Burberry brand T-shirt that Rahul Gandhi wore should be imported from abroad.
“Bharat, dekho,” (India, look), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took to its twitter and wrote these lines by posting two pictures, one of Gandhi and the other showing the price of a T-shirt similar to the one he was wearing. The Burberry T-shirt cost Rs 41,257, it claimed.
However, Congress has hit back at the BJP tweet hard. Reacting to the BJP tweet, the Congress page also took to its social media account and hit back at the BJP saying the ruling party should also talk about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Rs 10-lakh suit and Rs 1.5 lakh glasses.
The Congress in its Twitter handle wrote “Hey… are you scared? Seeing the crowd gathered in Bharat Jodo Yatra. Talk about the issue. Speak on unemployment and inflation. If we have to discuss the clothes, then Modi ji’s suit of 10 lakhs and glasses of 1.5 lakhs should be discussed. Do the BJP want to discuss this?”.
