During the pre-release event of Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Pawan Kalyan made important remarks addressing both the film industry and fans. Speaking as a leading actor and the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, he raised concerns about the recurring issue of movie ticket price hikes.
As a solution, he suggested that the film industry collectively discuss and decide on a structured ticket pricing model based on a film’s budget, then propose it to the government. After reviewing such a proposal, the government could then take an appropriate decision regarding ticket hikes.
However, Pawan noted that even months after the coalition government came to power and he made this suggestion earlier, the Andhra Pradesh government has not received any proposal from the industry regarding a standardized pricing system. His comments raised questions about why industry leaders have not responded to the suggestion, despite the need for a permanent solution. He emphasized that, instead of approaching governments separately for each film or going to court when requests are denied, the industry should work together to present a unified proposal.
Pawan Kalyan also addressed the growing fan wars on social media. He stated that he is not obsessed with movie collections or record-breaking numbers and does not feel insecure about other actors’ success. While appreciating fans’ admiration, he said it is not right for fans to insult or demean other heroes in the process.
Pawan’s comments have now sparked discussions within the industry and among fans. It remains to be seen whether the film industry will respond to his suggestion on ticket pricing and whether fan wars on social media will be reduced if more leading actors openly discourage such behavior.
